Visit the Fire Department's Web Site: "118 years of service to Our Community" The Sellersville Fire Company No. 1 was organized in June 1888 with the first officers being President and Chief Charles N. Cressman, and Secretary, Charles F. Jacoby. In Celebration of their centennial year, the Sellersville Fire Department hosted the 75th annual Bucks County Firemen's Parade in June 1988. Over the past one hundred, eleven years of service to the area, the Sellersville Fire Department has gone through a great deal of change to meet the ever growing needs of the community. Since the beginning the department has always attempted to give the community the highest level of protection. The latest change resulted in a new modern home for the Fire Department. In 1994 the Fire Department initiated a capital improvement campaign to expand and improve the existing fire hall which was built in 1927. It became clear that it would be more cost- efficient to raze the building and construct a new state - of - the - art facility, all on one level, that would meet all federal and state regulations. Thanks to the overwhelming response from the public, local Businesses and Municipalities, the new fire house was constructed and dedicated on May 31, 1997. This is a modern facility in which the public has found to be a great place for weddings and banquets. The Fire Department extends the use of the hall to various non - profit organizations. It is rapidly becoming a gathering place for the whole community. |
